Introduction

When working with points in the office/CAD-based products, one of ten different attribute layouts can be selected for a given field code definition. The CAD properties of each attribute layout can be individually customized and are stored in blocks named srvpnoX.dwg, where X = a number between 0 and 9 (e.g. srvpno3.dwg or srvpno5.dwg, etc).

Customizations

Attached to this knowledgebase article are customized sets of the Carlson Point Attribute Layouts:

1. SrvPNo.zip - The standard attribute layouts that utilize the Arial TrueType font rather than the generic Txt.shx font that ships with AutoCAD.
2. SrvPNo-NCS.zip - The standard attribute layouts whose layers conform to the National CADD Standards and that utilize the Arial TrueType font rather than the generic Txt.shx font that ships with AutoCAD.
3. SrvPNo-RomanS.zip - The standard attribute layouts that utilize the RomanS font that ships with AutoCAD rather than the generic Txt.shx font that ships with AutoCAD.

Each set of customizations have been saved to the AutoCAD 2000 DWG file format and can be opened with AutoCAD 2000 and later along with IntelliCAD.

Deployment

Users wishing to deploy a customized set of the attribute layouts can do so by following the steps listed below

1. From the Windows Start button, choose Run.
2. In the Run dialog box, type %AppData% (not case-sensitive) and click OK. The previous action should short-cut you to the location on your computer where individual application data resides.
3. Locate the Carlson Software folder in this folder and "drill-down" to the SUP "support" folder for your particular Carlson Software product.

   NOTE: In the event you do not see a Carlson Software folder, you may need to navigate "up" two folder locations to the All Users folder location.

4. Extract the contents of one of the customized attribute layouts attached to this document into the SUP folder.

NOTE: Drawings (including Drawing Templates, *.DWT) that have already been started using the earlier attribute definitions will continue to do so until a block substitution is performed. The INSERT (Draw → Insert) command can be used to re-define existing blocks as desired.
