This is in regards to using a Surveyor+ data collector with a Carlson GPS pack module attached to the back as it relates
to using SurvCE to operate a Total Station or Robotic instrument when you are not planning on using the GPS pack.
When you switch to Equip / Total Station and tap the Green Check to run a Total Station or Robot we do not run the
"Starting GPS Receiver" commands to power on your GPS Pack module.
SurvCE will only power on the GPS pack when you are set in "GPS Rover" mode in the Instrument icon at the main menu of
SurvCE in the upper right between Map and Battery or when you go into Equip / GPS Rover with your Model set to "Carlson
GPS" and tap the Green Check.
When your done using your Carlson GPS:
1) Go into the Equip tab and tap GPS Utilities then tap the "Network Disconnect" button and tap "Yes" when you prompted
to "Disconnect Modem Now".
2) Tap the Orange back arrow in the upper right to return to the main menu.
3) now tap the Instrument icon in the upper right from the main menu and tap "Total Station" or "Manual Total Station"
to switch modes.
This means since you've manually disconnected your cellphone in Network Disconnect then Windows Mobile won't "autodial"
each time you power on the data collector and since your in "Total Station" or "Manual Total Station" mode in the
Instrument icon we will not be sending any "Starting GPS" commands to power on the GPS Rover.
You can screw on the blank metal cap to the right hand side of the GPS Antenna port to keep it clean and also remove the
Cellphone antenna from the left side and screw on the blank cap for that as well if you would like.
To return to using the Carlson GPS you would connect your Cellphone Antenna and your GPS Antenna cable to the data
collector then in SurvCE tap the Equip tab then tap GPS Rover and tap the Green Check.
