In the newer Windows XP systems Microsoft has discontinued to install the DAO 3.5 database engine. As a result, the user could receive an error message in the AutoCAD command bar when starting SurvCADD: "ERROR: Unable to connect to CGISSYS!" In order to resolve this, the user needs to install DAO 3.5 database engine. Please close all your running Windows Applications including SurvCADD except Windows Explorer, WinZip before starting the install process. Please run the msvbvm50.exe install, first. Next, extract the files from DAO35.zip archive file and run the install. Please use the default options: Install both Jet and ODBC Direct and also leave all the settings turned ON for the Optional Jet components: Excel, Lotus, Paradox, etc. Please re-install SurvCADD after re-starting your computer. |
