Title: Carlson BRx7 - Base Point Established with Network Rover
Created: 2021-08-04Last modified: 2021-08-04
This is in regards to using a BRx7 network rover to shoot in your base point then setting up your base on that point where you scale to ground and later on set base #2 at a second location for extending the radio range.

Day 1:

1) Connect your BRx7 to the eGPS network and store Base point #1 and about 50 foot away store a rover check shot #2 from an RTK FIXED solution on the network in a good open area with a clear view of the sky

2) Go into Equip / Localization / GPS tab and check "Use grid to ground" then tap the "calculator" icon in the bottom right and change the method in the top left to "Grid Coordinates" and select Point #1 from the list and tap green check three times to save and apply your changes. Tap "No" when prompted to reprocess existing points that have been measured.

3) Set your BRx7 base up over point #1 and go into Equip / GPS Base / Receiver tab to enter in your Antenna height then tap green check and tap "From Known Position" and "Previously Surveyed Point" to select your Point #1 network rover shot

4) Follow the prompts and make sure to tap "YES" to save the base settings to file to create a *.REF base reference file such as "jobname_b1.ref" where "b1" refers to base point #1

5) Stakeout point #2 from the network to make sure its within tolerance

Day 2:

To setup over Base point #1 you would measure your antenna height for the Receiver tab then go into "From Known Position" and "Read from File" to select "jobname_b1.ref" and then stakeout your check shot #2 with your rover to make sure its within tolerance

Day 3:

1) To move your base to a new location take your rover (Fixed using radios from your Base setup over #1) to the new base #2 location and go into Survey / Store Points / "A" and store 30 averaged readings to the new base point number such as #37 then store a check shot 50 foot away as the next higher number such as #38

{The numbering isn't critical = use whatever is most logical to you}

2) Now you can move your BRx7 base to the new base #2 setup and run Equip / GPS Base / Receiver tab / enter in Antenna height / "From Known Position" / "Previously Surveyed Point" / Point #37 / follow the prompts and tap "YES" to save your *.REF base reference file as "jobname_b37.ref" for your second base on control Point #37

3) Stakeout Point #38 to make sure you are within tolerance and if possible go back over to stakeout the original network shots #1 and #2

4) To setup over Point #37 with your base the next day you measure your antenna height / "From Known Position" / "Read from File" and select "jobname_b37.ref" then stakeout to point #38 with your rover to make sure its within tolerance
